It is surprisingly okay. Is it a bit samey? Yes, this is a Meghan Trainor album. But it does what it does in a completely serviceable way. Nothing in the album is actively bad, which is very surprising. Shimmer is definitely a guilty pleasure.
I really liked it, might even bump it up to 90. I haven't really been able to connect with the, i don't know if this is the correct word for it, "sparse" tracks. But otherwise overall it is very good. I especially loved SAME LA.
It feels a bit too similar to Escaper for me. I don't dislike it, but it doesn't really do anything, it feels like an Escaper B-side
It has some major chops, but it also has great songs too. The first two tracks are insanely good.
