John Coltrane - Infinity
100

I never knew overflowing, bursting, explosive star-forming joy could be put into sound until I listened to Coltrane’s “Joy”. Just as in A Love Supreme, Coltrane can capture love with a capital “L”. Here, he captures joy.

Cory Henry - Divine Time

This album is a dose of virtuosity and positivity. So smooth and easy to listen to.

Mavis Staples - Sad and Beautiful World
100

Mavis Staples selects songs by a stellar group of songwriters to bring us close to the past & present, and, with hope, to carve a path forward into the future in times of historic turmoil. This album is a great companion because its tracks can guide the listener through a complex landscape of emotions. In a sense, this album does not ask the listener to tune out life but instead to tune in deeply into their own.

Bad Bunny - DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS
100

Wow, wow, wow! Bad Bunny channels the power and the sheer, undeniable force of Latin music and styles. I hear the inheritance of the salseros and the regetoneros. I can’t help but feel the same way I feel when I watch old 1970’s Fania All-Stars concerts. The subject matter is timely and unafraid to tackle the tough themes. Ultimately, this albums most impressive feat is that it transmutes a time of difficulty and pain, both collective and personal, and transforms them into the ... read more

Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble - Soul to Soul
100

Bangers, I play this album and dance with my headphones on in my room. This album is steeped in the blues marrying rock with it. It's a definite listen for those who love Blues music or artists like BB King, Buddy Guy, Albert King and Muddy Waters.
If you don't enjoy this genre you might not like it from start to finish. " Life Without You" probably one of my all time favorite songs. Geez, what a song!

Sarah McLachlan - Better Broken
NR

What an album. I can only liken the experience of listening to this album to that of steeping tea. You have to wait and give it time. The more I listen to the songs on this album, the more sweetly they comfort the splintered grief of humanhood & particularly womanhood. While also providing an incendiary quality that rekindles hope. Her voice remains as beautiful and as haunting as always.

Luiz Bonfá - Introspection
100

Wow, what an ethereal and masterful display of craft paired with such a tenderness. This album is short and sweet with a listen time of 26 minutes. Therefore, I find myself easily listening to it at least two times in a row. The title of the album introspection, leads me as a listener to contemplate my inner workings and the inner landscape I navigate; This albums certainly accompanies that journey.

Paolo Nutini - Last Night In The Bittersweet
95

I am big fan of 60-70’s rock. And I have had a long love and obsession with Al Greene’s voice since I was kid. In this album Paolo Nutini really marries my love of 60-70’s rock with a voice as soulful and emotive of that of Al Greene. The themes of heartbreak, transformation and redemption resonated with the human experience. Writer the last track was the first one to grab my attention, but like every great album I listen to my favorite song changes with every listen.

Tucker Zimmerman - Dance of Love
95

What a wonderful album; its writing is wise and beautiful. Every time I listen to this album, I fall in love with a different song.

Mediavolo - A Secret Sound
NR

Solid from beginning to end. It’s style is not for everyone. However, if you like metal/ rock of 00’s or 90’s paired with a nice female soprano voice this is a treat.
