This album irradiates late spring-early summer vibes, idk how to explain it. Also, Krazy World is phenomenal, argue with the wall
“Bandana” marks the second collaboration between producer Madlib and rapper Freddie Gibbs after the amazing 2014 release “Piñata”.
While not a real sequel to “Piñata”, “Bandana” shares many similarities with the former, especially in the beat selection and production.
Although while I think in “Piñata” the production was the true highlight (Gibbs still did really good), in “Bandana” Gibbs and the ... read more
After the mediocre Vultures 1, the terrible volume 2 and Donda 2 and many delays Ye drops his highly anticipated record BULLY.
I'm pretty surprised it dropped with a different tracklist from the vinyl, as most of the songs aren't present on the physical reissue and, for the most part, are actually better production-wise, with Ye taking inspiration from different eras of his discography.
The first 12 tracks are pretty solid, nothing too sensational if compared to his most acclaimed ... read more
Not a single miss in a 2 hour-long double album is pretty crazy
You takе my tired body in
And you wrap it up in your undershirt
And you pray for the pain to leave him
This album suffers from the SMITHEREENS syndrome: average 2 minutes tracks (the longest being LOVE YOU LESS lasting around 3 minutes) that right when you think they're starting to build up abruptly end. At least SMITHEREENS had Die For You and Glimpse Of Us which I consider to be some of his best songs overall.
P.S.
The whole album actually feels like it lasts as long as a piss
I mean, it’s a pretty decent album, but was it worth the 8 years wait?
But even not considering the time he spent making Don’t Be Dumb, I still find it a bit disappointing for Rocky’s standards. I mean, this dude released one of the best mixtapes OAT and LLA and ALLA are great albums.
During the rollout Rocky talked about how this would’ve been his most experimental album to date, blending different genres. In the end, while the beats range from decent to really good ... read more
While I think it was pretty much impossible for Wildflower to top Since I Left You, it’s still an amazing listening experience and an essential addition to a rather small yet legendary discography.
A friend of mine recommended me this album saying it was very similar to “By The Time I Get To Phoenix” by Injury Reserve.
Experimentation isn’t always a guarantee for a good album, and this is the prime example. While I think it’s better than Edward Skeletrix’s latest album(s), it is still a mess, with songs changing their entire structure two or three times in a minute and a half. Still looking forward to their next project.
the corniest person you know probably put "Nope your too late i already died" in his instagram notes, didn't he/she?
After some time I've decided to give this album a proper listen, and while I appreciate the production on most of the tracks and the "singing in different languages" thing, what drags this album down is the songs' structure: it seems like they never reach the climax, exception made for Barghain.
