- twenty one pilots took their first major dive into making experimental music here, and it SHOWS. While the production is lacking at points, and the vocals are arguably worse than their debut self-titled album "twenty one pilots", the creativity and lyricism is taken up several notches here. twenty one pilots' self-titled debut album is one of their most important records to date, setting up the visions for the band for many decades to come. It speaks very strongly on topics that are not only very important to Tyler, but important to our general society, specifically topics and themes about depression, religion, trauma and sorrow. - This is an incredible album especially if you're willing to or able to move past the low quality, as well as a lack of high production. The message is lacking at times but ultimately comes down to Tyler's early stages of his struggles with finding god in his life, and trying to overcome the feelings of him not deserving gods forgiveness or help with dark times as a form of punishment for the sins he has committed.
