An incredibly timely album, one that we really need now. My first Vince Staples record, Staples takes us through a poignant tour of the brokenness, corruption, rot, and evil of America. The rock instrumentals are incredible, combining my personal two favorite genres: rap and rock. However, I do wish Staple’s rapping was a little more lively at points, but I think it mostly works considering the themes of the record. The lyricism is also great, Staples creating hectic, vivid imagery and ... read more
Quite simply incredible. BCNR takes the best parts of their first LP and expands upon all of it. This album really took it out of me. I’m kind of at a loss for words. The beautiful instrumentation, painfully sung vocals, and perfect pacing create a one-of-a-kind, transcendent album.

A very overhated album this year. When you seperate Keem from K.Dot, what’s left is pretty great. Keem’s lyricism and production work hand in hand, creating a consistently strong album. Not every song is great, and the album jumps back and forth in quality occasionally, but it’s still a great listen.

Amazing soundtrack’ for an amazing film.
Backed by a cacophony of ghosts and posthumous features, Gorillaz delivers one of the most thematically rich records I’ve heard in a while. The Mountain is sonically rich, filled with beautiful, transcendent production, and amazing vocals. Truly a record worth your time. I know I’ll definitely be having most of these songs in my rotation for the foreseeable future.

Wow. I didn’t know what to expect with this one, and I was absolutely floored. Absolute loved this one. Kendrick Lamar operating at his best since TPAB. Lamar calls out the world, and everyone around him, but most importantly, himself. An incredibly vulnerable and powerful record both lyrically and sonically. The concept alone of this album is something else. A gorgeous record.

One of the wildest albums I’ve ever heard. Danny Brown comes in with what can only be described as a dark odyssey through the depths of his depravity and suicidal ideation. An almost perfect album that is only held back by a song or two weaker than the rest. Absolutely loved this one though, no skips on this one.
