At first, the album tracks didn't grab me too much, but on repeat listens they really start to grow on you. in comparison to their previous album Wallsockets, this sounds like a much more polished pop sounds that loses none of the energy that record carried, now that energy is directed into lyrics of romance, love and heartbreak. The singles piqued my interest in who underscores was, and this album brought it home with some banging tunes

the beat certainly fits what bibinos is going for, defo feels like something has got him in the dumps and the music reflects that.

but the lyrics for this song are so boring, and delivered in such a bland way. the lines in the chorus about money feel like the kind of self-aggrandizing and pompous stuff pop stars would say in charity singles or when they talk about social justice; it just irks me in the wrong way.

on first listen i wasn't feeling it with this song, but listening to the album today I am more and more impressed by rebecca blacks feature on here, its an absolute masterpiece how her floaty, high-pitched voice contrasts the bombastic production of joey valence in the background. I can't forget the bars on this are absolute HEAT and then some. "You dressed to the nines, can i be your plus one?" IM STEALING THAT

Tyler brings his A-game with the production here, its really fun and wildly unique. there's so much going on in the background and so many different textures that he brings, like an assortment of phone call sounds(?), that gun going off in "Dont Play With Me" and the hi-hats(?) throughout the album which sound like someone clapping along( im bsing so hard rn)
