he is amazingly unchanged. I am transported 20 years. But I don't want to go back
"Luciferine" is wonderful (look up the lyrics) and approaches Newsom's intense-diffuse harmony-perfume. And the last track is a very pure example of her original, overwhelmingly winsome style. But the rest is more aimless than diffuse.

nearly spoiled by the vocals as usual for post-90s posthardcore but not quite
Oof. Springsteen minus band minus joy plus indie girl diphthongs plus a hint of geordie. It beats Capaldi at least
impressive formal exercise (he's not hiding behind echo like the rest of the genre)
This is 3/4 of the way towards an incredible album and the remainder is not error but omission. It's not pretentious enough basically. Ward is probably the best musician in ATDI (as we see from "interalia" being so meh) but his band lacks idiotic magic. His fury is the normal kind. You could actually get the last quarter with remixes.
what the hell is it about supergroups????? I guess by definition you just don't have to try
just the right amount of skronk. unlike other screwed jazz, it doesn't insist on itself, doesn't linger too long on any phrase
charming n simple. the only variable is the little analogueish bursts of volume
I think I'd like concrète if it didn't put on airs. "I made some funny noises. If you listen closely they're sorta connected like music is"
cool setup but she doesn't do much with it
