A very easy listening and musical Lyr album, tracks have good production and a cohesive vision - For me though I can’t help but think a bit of the magic is lost in the subject matter, I like a Lyr album to have atleast 1 ‘33/3rd’ / ‘song thrush and mountain ash’ heavy themed track - and here I feel there is an intentional effort to not go that deep and consequently although all of the songs sound good, none of them conjure as powerful of a vision as their previous ... read more

A cohesive, refreshing and well put together Gorillaz album ?!… What is this, the early 2000’s ???
I cherrypicked 10 of the tracks I liked the most to add to my library and even then it still can’t escape from being mid. The vocal delivery comes across as lazy, the beats sound low effort, just a mostly forgettable lp for me. The few highlights don’t shine anywhere near bright enough to save it.
