I return to this album from time to time and find it more and more beguiling with every listen
Enchanting dark (almost goth) pop. Genesis, Oblivion, Be a Body are the best examples of what this album is trying to do, all of which clearly embody the songwriting, instrumentation, and aesthetic that would dominate Artangels. Visions is one of those beguiling albums that unearths something heavy and serious underneath its gloss of pop.
I wanna be a video game princess too
On a more serious note, one of the finest works of pop produced this decade. It comes as a surprise to me that Boucher was able to transition from experimental & ambient to this poppy with little to no hitch-- especially as the sole producer, songwriter, and performer.
