TOP's label debut is definitely an improvement over their first two efforts. The songs are a fusion of emo and electropop, resulting in an uplifting sound with dark and introspective lyrics. While being a bit annoyingly generic / formulaic sometimes, it's still quite a pleasant listen.

So, Twenty One Pilots used to be my favorite band a few years ago. The emotional attachment I had with their music was unparalleled by anything else. Then I started to expand my musical culture, finding new artists and listening to new stuff, which lead me to distance myself from their music in a way. Going back to their discography, I knew I wouldn't like it as much as I used to.
