MUST listen to it as an album, every individual song is good but together, and in order is something special. The evolution sonically through every track until it all comes crushing down in sum is an amazing metal experience. Drum Machine take away a little for me and I also feel it could be a bit longer, especially after seeing In Death is Life/Death live. Still a banger album.
One of my favorite albums of all time amd definitely the most personally influential. This album is one-of-a-kind and unfortunately will stay that way due to the Band's status. I cannot recommend this album enough, the highs are so high, the clean and harsh vocals are peak, the mixing is amazing and every member of the band seems to be playing with the same emotion as the main character. I mean what can I say that hasn't been said, its a hauntingly beautiful performance the length of a longer movie, what can't you love about this experience? (if you like noise rock that is)
Masterpiece, so tight but diverse. You can't just convey the same messages as drone with other genres. Swans always knows how to do live albums right.
