JAY-Z - Reasonable Doubt

Can't deny it's a classic but the second half of this album just really drops off for me, at least until "Regrets". The first half is a generational run so it sucks to see it followed up with just some okay tracks. Definitely not Jay's best showing but a couple songs will remain at the top of his catalogue.

Really enjoyed this one even though it didn’t click with me as much as other emo projects I’ve heard. Definitely got a lot going for it though, the vocals are amazing, even while I can’t speak the language it’s still pretty emotional. I also love the production on most songs, a few a carried a hit hard by the vocals

Sito4_8 - SITO4_* (work From 2023-2025)

Absolutely incredible. One of the of the most surprising first listens I've had, I like this style of music but since the project is so underground I had no idea what to expect. That final track might of one of the best songs of the decade

Eddie Palmieri - Lucumí, Macumba, Voodoo

Such a beautiful blend of of styles with "Spirit of Love" and "Colombia Te Canto" being true standouts. Not a single bad track on this. The album also masterfully takes from the cultures and musical styling of so many countries. Absolutely the best Afro-Cuban jazz album and among the best Jazz albums from its time

Lupe Fiasco - Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor

Amazing all around with really the only weak points being the intro and the outro. Kick, Push II is SO slept on

Blu & Exile - Below the Heavens
100

The most mature album in rap with both some of the best beats and rapping performances in hip-hop. Blu not only looks inward and to the past but also around him to the future and what he sees in this community. It’s jarring to hear something so deep and introspective coming so soon of the heels of bling rap when hip-hop was at its most vain

Mingus Big Band - Nostalgia in Times Square

Big Band at its most purest, quite literally. Jazz is one of my favorite genres just because of how unique it all feels even among similar genres, songs like "Weird Nightmare" and the bands cover of "The Clown's Afraid Too" are weird and off putting (which I like) and they're put alongside tracks like Moanin' and Invisible Lady which feel a lot more "traditional" in comparison.

Petalbyte - <10><

My only complaints are that some songs have sections that I don't really care for but everything else is SO FUCKING GOOD! The vocals are killer and the production steals the show even making the more interlude-ish tracks a bop. Highly recommend

Was going to go with an 85 for score but those last two tracks bumped it up. WOW, what an album, that final track may be one of the most pleasant songs to listen to. Just puts you in some kinda trance.

芸能山城組 [Geinoh Yamashirogumi] - 輪廻交響楽 [Ecophony Rinne]

Not my favorite ambient project, though as you can see I still really liked it. I just didn't feel it was as consistent as say "Structures from Silence" but the highs are up in clouds. The beautiful use of choirs and varied instruments really made this feel like a trip into the jungle.

파란노을 [Parannoul] - To See the Next Part of the Dream

A truly magical album that manages to do so, so much in its 1 hour runtime

Luiz Bonfá - Introspection
NR

Like taking a breather on a mountaintop this album is one of the most calming experiences you’re going to get

Devon Hendryx - DREAMCAST SUMMER SONGS
NR

Not only my favorite album JPEGMAFIA has ever released but also a top 2 instrumental hip hop project for me

Devon Hendryx - JOECHILLWORLD
NR

Nowhere near my favorite project from JPEGMAFIA but you can definitely see the beginnings of one of the greatest producers of all time. Sabbath School is also one of the most heavenly songs of all time

NR

It’s hard to find a more apt portrayal of mental illness than this project

NR

This is not going to be for everyone but all music shouldn’t be

Lucy Bedroque - Fête de la Vanille
NR

Talent oozes out of everything this ep gives us

Lil Ugly Mane - UNEVEN COMPROMISE
NR

One of those projects where all the hype is deserved

Justice - Planisphere
NR

I don’t think I’ll ever find producers like Justice again
