This is the best work by Death Grips, by far. One of the best opening tracks of all and MC Ride giving us killer vocals, and the production stays consistent throughout the experience which is a plus for replayability. I really liked and prefer the more pronounce vocals in this mixtape, you can hear the lyrics much more clearly and the vocals I believe adds to the anger and emotion presented in the project.
This album is still very good, even 15 years later. There are a few tracks where I still get goosebumps on the right occasion, and some on my "hype" playlist. Most tracks are great, like any Kanye album before 2019 in terms of flair, production and energy coming off them. Unbelievable experience with so many moods and vibes going through it. The masterful sampling is just out of this world, with so many sounds no one could've imagined can be used in this fashion. I'm still in the process of learning to sample and to make a beat, and there are many times when I'm dumbfounded in Fruity Loops trying to splice samples together. An intense and harrowing experience that's not for everyone. But if you're willing to listened to two hours of this LP, then you're in for an experience like no other. It took me two weeks to finish this album because each track felt like an album in itself, and honestly I was left feeling no regret.
Stromae comes back after 9 years since his 2012 hit "racine carree" and he doesn't disappoint. This LP takes a step back from the electronic pop aspects rather going for a more cinematic, theatrics approach and I believe it has resonated with a good project with many recognizable tracks.
