I don't really know what to say, this is the first black metal album I've ever listened to and it was like a spiritual experience. I heard music in a way I never had before and went on an emotional journey that I never imagined a mostly instrumental album could take me on. The end of Beautiful Ghosts into All Is Found is one of my favourite moments I've had with music ever.
Great driving music, as the first few songs contain the more well-known tracks and you can sing along, and then it can fade into the background in an enjoyable way. Uncomplicated but pleasant.
Listened to this in the car and man, did this album fade into the background way more than I expected a NBT album to do. The only song that made me take notice was There Was Sun, and even then it's not even in my top ten NBT songs. May change my mind upon a second listen but yeah, a disappointing first impression.
Update: Holy shit I was so wrong. This album is NBTs best and probably my favourite album ever. It gets better on every listen and there isn't a single skip.
Once again, the highlight of a Nothing But Thieves album is a three track run in the middle. This time it's Graveyard Whistling, Hostage and Trip Switch, and this one is even better than the one in Dead Club City. However, this album has more average points than DCC and so for me, comes out a bit worse. However, considering it's their debut. that's not bad going.
