You just have to admit this is a masterpiece. Muse are obviously not the greatest band of all time (or second, or third for that matter). Yet in this album that have managed to maximise their potential. 7 out of the 11 songs are exceptional and the rest though subpar, still offer something to the album.
Though this album obviously could not be cohesive sonically album, it certainly is lyrically. And that is by no means a good thing. Mediocre lyrics on some songs - bad on others. Nothing extraordinary vocally for the most part, even from some of the better groups. Some interesting songs instrumentally, especially Strangers. This might earn good reviews from some due to the cause, yet it is exactly that cause that seems to limit and harm this project lyrically.
This is probably the best album of the year so far. Well it's pretty bad anyways. The first and last track are decent, only reason this isn't below 50.
Relatively melodic for a free jazz album. Quite fun to listen to. The opening track is probably the highlight. Will be interesting to see what comes with this modern free jazz wave.
A hidden gem of an album. Lithuanian music has seen an extraordinary improvement this decade, unlike the rest of European music (the windmill scene is the only other exception). Though this improvement has been centered around rock, pop and folk, Dargana have managed to produce one of the best neo-soul albums of this century.
