This album was the follow-up to the already critically acclaimed “Dark Side of the Moon”, which was practically a perfect album, but somehow they made this masterpiece which is as good or maybe even better than their prior album. One of the great parts of this project is the theme, which has Pink Floyd showing their insight into the corruption of the music industry with the cover reinforcing the idea. As it is showcasing what could be comparing signing your rights to a studio like ... read more
After picking this up at a second hand store a couple weeks ago, and truthfully neglecting it for a while I finally decided to check it out. I originally got this record because I thought the cover looked good so I didn’t really know what to expect when going in. I ended up being a really big fan of the style though, I’ve never heard a hard rock and prog rock album (mainly because I’m pretty un-cultured when it comes to rock). The songs were all pretty high energy and sounded ... read more
Madvillainy; The greatest experimental hip hop album of all time. I have been listening and loving this record for years now, but I’m finally deciding to review it. Out of all the great DOOM albums this is definitely the best and most impactful to the genre. Madlib creates raw dusty beats that perfectly complement DOOM’s amazing rapping. Fist off, I have to say I’m so happy this released and ai free on top of that (not including “Circles” but that song sucks anyway). But I was fully confident this was never gonna release for so long and I if it did I completely expected to be mid like his last three projects, but “BULLY” is surprisingly better than expected. I only really had a few problems ... read more
In Queen’s legendary album “News of The World” they show a variety of different styles and creative choices never seen before by them. This project was released during a time when punk rock was getting more and more popular with people like The Sex Pistols and Ramones, with Queen on the other hand being symphonic with layers in their songs. So instead of staying the same in this new age Queen decided to change with it, making the songs in this project being shorter, and ... read more
Denzel Curry is back again this year with a new mixtape but this time with his new group The Scythe. The Scythe is Denzel’s new super group is with four other fairly popular MC’s A$AP Ferg, Bktherula, TiaCorine, and Key Nyata who were all features on his last project “KOTMS”. Which this mixtape is very similar to, with it feeling as kind of a deluxe. Even though the projects are very similar though, I do believe that the last one definitely had some higher quality, but ... read more
