The song could be framed either as boring or relaxing. Personally, I like it a bit more.
Lyrics are the main thing holding this back. The arrangement itself is relaxing.
The mellow, soft voice of chart leader Bobby Vinton adds a glowing touch to every one of these nicely arranged songs. Lyrics aren't groundbreaking, but they're enough for a 1960s album.
The AllMusic rating is way too harsh, considering the chill and relaxing tone of this album.
A beautiful album, with some fantastic moments. By far his greatest!
Wouldn't say that these are the best selections from Broadway, but they probably fit his vocal range best.
Following the title track's huge success, Vale recorded more love ditties with similar arrangements. The album went on to sell well, and it's a nice listen. I like this style of songs, so it's probably more pleasant for me. He would record a few more albums, almost identical to this one, then switch to more pop contemporary LPs.
Relaxed vocals with some swinging great standards. Como satisfies everyone with another great LP once again.
All of these tracks are either a hit or miss, but overall I like this LP.
