On the surface, this project feels like watching a horror movie through your fingers as they cover your eyes. It's so hauntingly beautiful with multiple layers and recurring themes. I've been really into ambient music lately so this music couldn't have come at a better time, I had the pleasure of being able to hear "Punish" and "Amber Waves" live when she performed at the Roundhouse in June, where Hayden asked the crowd to "be still and let the music pass ... read more

I am extremely late to the hype train but finally got a chance to sit down and listen to this album, I am not familiar with Magdalena Bay aside from "Killshot" so I was going in not knowing what to expect but long story short I can understand the hype around this project. Hearing "Death & Romance" has changed my brain chemistry, this album is just so fun and ambitious throughout, the production is stellar and dreamy and had my attention the entire ... read more
I need to start this review off with mentioning that I consider "Posing For Cars" one of the greatest songs of all time. This album has been on-repeat for almost a year now and I still have yet to get bored of it, I've been putting off writing a review on it purely because of how speechless it leaves me, just overwhelmed with emotions. This project is really one of a kind and everyday I eagerly await any news on new music from Japanese Breakfast. Start to finish there is ... read more
Dare I say one of the most underrated albums ever? People are really missing out on this gem in her impressive discography. When I imagine a perfect club night I would want this album played in full. Seductive, unapologetic and even vulnerable at times, Tove Lo's charming lyricism is strongly supported by interesting and wonderful production throughout this project. I really appreciate when an album has interludes that make sense and LIGHT BEAMS is a gorgeous introduction to the album. ... read more

The pensiveness of these songs is so addicting, the production and instrumentals on this record feel like a warm hug, followed by bursting into tears which most songs on this album succeed at making me do. The standout on this ... read more
