What is supposed to be so special about this? The vocals? Nothing special about them, besides Lily, I genuinely have no clue why people glaze their vocals so much. The overexaggerated falsettos and head voices are not nearly as good as everyone claims, could have left the rapping out as well. As far as production, "Crescendo" had some cool production and songwriting, but there is really no need to use supersaws for every song here, they just start to all blend together and not in a ... read more
I think Fromis_9's last album under HYBE was genuinely the last time I enjoyed a release from this conglomerate. There is genuinely nothing innovative nor creative about ANYTHING that they are releasing now. Gather as many songwriters as you can and tell them to write 5 to 7 songs with a general "idea" in the back of their minds. Zero passion, zero musical authenticity, and zero emotion. You are telling me that a Korean group decides to release an album titled after a Chilean ... read more
Genuinely an incredible metalcore album. Probably the most consistently good band of this genre. Incredible riffs and melodies throughout, something which new metalcore is desperately missing.
How the hell do 6 songs with a total runtime of 16 minutes and 5 seconds require 75 songwriters? TXT have been falling off for quite some time now, but these last 2 releases have been particularly bad. No good vocal performances whatsoever with irritating vocal production throughout, which seems to be a trend with every song that Slow Rabbit produces, but at some point, as a listener you have to realize that this group just doesn't have great singers in it. While I do enjoy synthpop and ... read more
Why do people praise Monsta X's English albums so much? The previous 2 were terrible (besides "Middle of the Night", that's a good song), and so was this one. You can tell that there was genuinely zero passion put into this from anyone involved. This is flat out embarrassing to be releasing this over a decade into your career.
"Nihilist," "Gone With The Wind," and "Memento Mori" are 3 of the greatest metalcore songs ever made. Tom was truly an incredible songwriter in every sense.
This was the beginning of the fall off of WayV. "Phantom" had some cool production in it but was held back by sloppy songwriting. "Try My Luck" became the billionth song to sample "Dies Irae" but of course went nowhere with it. Listening to these songs individually you would have no idea that they were all on the same album, genuinely no cohesiveness of concept, songwriting, or production whatsoever.
"Horizon" is the best ballad that WayV has ever released, and in my opinion one of the best SM ballads overall, but that is the only high point of this album. "Kick Back" was promising up until that horrendous repetitive chorus which I thought would redeem itself after the bridge but nope. "Action Figure" was decent but wow the English lyrics in this were terrible. I can honestly only recommend "Horizon" from this. Overall not a fan of a lot of the ... read more
Everything before the interlude is incredible. "Turn Back Time" is one of their best songs, very catchy chorus and incredible production especially the guitars and synths during the dance break. This was followed up by "Bad Alive" which has some pretty cool arpeggios throughout as well as a great bassline, and was overall a really enjoyable song. "Unbreakable" and "After Midnight" are slower and showcase their vocals a little more, with great production ... read more
One of the better WayV releases, "Moonwalk" and "Love Talk" are two of their best songs, both with incredible production. Unfortunately, everything else here is pretty forgettable or just bad, "Yeah Yeah Yeah" is straight up terrible.
This gets the same score as Dying to Love because while this one at least has some power in the breakdown, the vocal delivery of the verses on this one had zero emotion behind them. The choruses were pretty strong, but come on show some emotion in the verses. Specter was good because of the emotional vocal delivery, but in this and all of the singles besides Specter, I felt nothing.
Rating of the 4 singles:
1: Specter
2/3: Dying to Love / Left for good
4: Impose

Great production, but the bridge and breakdown could have been much better. I feel as if they have been becoming more and more safe with their breakdowns (not like they had very intense breakdowns to begin with, but you get the point). Bad songwriting held this one back.
80 --> 70. Grew off me slightly the more I listen to it.
While there are certainly some great songs on here, and Noah is a fantastic singer, there is just too much filler, and honestly some duds here which really bring the whole album down. When this album is good though, it is very good hence the pretty high score. Songwriting and production are somewhat inconsistent throughout, and I feel like the vocals were slightly overproduced on a lot of this.

Was kind of let down by this unfortunately. "It was Love" which was previously released was definitely the highlight of this release, which even then was not anything that special. Now onto the rest of the tracklist, tracks 1,2, and 3 just blended together and there was nothing really of note about them besides that absolutely terrible guitar tone in "LATENCY". What was most disappointing about this is that according to the album credits, the members did not record any of ... read more
Unpopular opinion but in a genre as saturated as KPOP there is ZERO NEED for groups to constantly change their sound. What is the point in new groups debuting from the same companies each year if they all change their sound every comeback to the point where any song could be released by any group? I would much prefer groups find a sound that works for them and stick to it. With that said, I genuinely enjoyed this release, and I was incredibly impressed by their vocals, particularly on "Be ... read more
Really enjoyed the riffs throughout this. Tracks 2,7, and 8 were probably the weakest here but everything else was really solid. Black cloud was probably my favorite here. Jesse Cash has to be one of the most talented people in this genre, incredible cleans from him here and I wish that I heard even more of his voice here. Overall, I would have this tied with their self-titled as their best work.
Get Sandra Wilkstrom out of the writing room. PLEASE. Genuinely not sure if she has ever written a good song.
While I certainly did not enjoy this album, I do think that their singers receive way too much hate online, and while Ahyeon may push herself a little far sometimes, I appreciate that she is one of the few idols who seems to actually give a shit about what she does. Their rappers are okay, but their overexaggerated tones make the delivery a little grating. During the second verse of ... read more
