This is an album that I was inspired to listen to because of Black Thought's (and danger mouse's) Cheat Codes. I don't know why I haven't taken this group serious before, but I just ignored their music before I was convinced that Black Thought is a really good artist and that I should definitely listen to something he made in the past.
Out of all the albums I chose this one, well, obviously because it's the best rated one, but apparently there's a lot of great albums in The Roots' discography.
This album is nothing short of amazing, and though I think Cheat Codes is probably gonna remain Black Thought's best project according to me, this was still enjoyable and I had no problems with this album, the interludes were fine.
Most definitely going to listen to more albums from this group, since they have a lot of positively rated projects from what I've seen on this website alone.
Now, I'm not the biggest fan of lyrical Hip Hop, but paying attention to them on this album definetely makes up for it, and even if you don't want to do that, the production and the artists make a fine listen eitherway, it's a chill album.
I was not expecting Mos Def to appear on this album for some reason, but I think his feature was the best on this album. Common was a pretty unexpected guest too. Not very familiar with the other artists that appear on this album, so I won't comment on their performance or whatever they did.
Didn't really understand what this album was about, but now I might do some research, because this really confused me personally, maybe I could pay more attention to the lyrics, but I don't feel like doing that, so I think I'll just google what it's about for now, since I'm not really a fan when it comes to relistening to albums.
Okay, so that's pretty much all I have to say, I might check out more of their projects, since I think this was a really solid album, and they're also one of the best rated Hip Hop groups ever.
