Finally we're getting somewhere. This could be the possible peak of WSG's career, but I shouldn't be too quick to judge. I believe there could be a project in his catalogue that can outdo this one, but it's probably quite unlikely. The only reason I think that it's still possible to beat it is because I gave it the same score as HWH8:SB.
So far, it is my favourite album of his, and I think it's gonna be really hard for my opinion to change.
I really liked this album, but I think my only problem is the features. I know it's a bit questionable to think they're a problem when there are features like Conway, Benny and Danny Brown on here, but come on, Conway and Benny are always there. I honestly prefer when WSG raps with rappers that are especially popular now. I heard Freddie Gibbs, Joey Bad, Tyler and Roc Marciano are on Pray for Paris, so I think there's somewhat of a chance that I could enjoy that album better than this one. The only unique feature on here is Danny Brown, and I still think he didn't really have a very great part on it.
Besides that, I don't find anything wrong with this album. The production is great, sometimes sounds angelic and hard to not enjoy. Obviously, Gunn has some great verses on this album. Possibly his best album when it comes to delivery and just rapping in general, that's from what I've listened to so far.
I'm glad that I entered the territory where most of his projects are gonna be better known, because what I've listened to so far hasn't been very noted in pretty much any place I've seen. Of course, there's gonna be a few mixtapes and EPs that aren't popular, but atleast I got to his albums, cause it's been a bit boring listening to repetitive and short mixtapes. There's been minimal notable projects, so I hope there's gonna be more of them from this point on out.
There's a lot of great songs on here, and the lyricism definetely took somewhat of a step up on here, I think this is gonna be his best album when it comes to lyrics, but I don't know, there's yet to see. I know his (probably) best song lyrically is The Cow off Hitler Wears Hermes 4, but I don't know how the rest of the mixtape is gonna hold up, but I can say I'm still excited for the first track of it, atleast, but not expecting much from the rest of it.
Anyways, I'm satisfied with this album, and I think digging through his earlier projects was worth it to listen to this.
So yeah, good album, could use some better features though.
