EDWARD SKELETRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIX
After he would pave the way for his career in the cight era, he would, after a while, come back as practically a whole different artist, settling on a way more experimental route, also having Rage as one of his primary subgenres, which would all make for a very good debut album released under his traditional and more well known alias.
Dare I say this is a mindfucking album? I may. It's quite hard to understand what the album really is about because his performance consists of unclear vocals and lyrics, but it's pretty traditional to modern Rage, so I don't blame him. And, at the end of the day, this stuff sounds hard as hell, it's crazy how there's nothing ominous to it, especially within the intro - you'd expect his very awaited debut to have a slower intro, but no, it starts off on practically the first second with a fast-paced instrumental, rather weird performance and just an overall crazy-like atmosphere.
For the rest of the album, you also get just more confusing songs, but for more dedicated listeners who try to enjoy the music, I'd say it sounds pretty normal, including me, because my music taste is fucked. It keeps a pretty energetic atmosphere, while also following questionable topics which most listeners probably don't notice because the lyrics are on the edge of being inaudible, but yeah, it's mostly about drugs.
Edward's performance here, well, I pretty much said all I could, but I'll run through it again - his vocals are quite tough, atleast in my opinion, the lyricism is.. interesting, I honestly couldn't tell you about the full topic of the songs, or maybe it's just because there isn't really one, it's just an album dedicated to mostly the vibe, beats and overall enjoyability. I also sort of like his flow, but he doesn't really have one if that makes sense. He kind of just talks throughout the songs.
As for the production, yeah, it was definitely great. Of course, Rage beats nowadays always sound pretty weird, but in this scenario he made it sound rather futuristic and glitchy instead of being too loud, having a great amount of bass and other elements which make up the subgenre.
The last track is questionable, to say the least. The song itself is good, nothing too bad, sounds pretty similar to the prior nine songs which appeared with the same title, but the eight minute silence afterwards is a very bold move from Edward here. Yeah, I sat through it, because I'm a very patient man and try my best to appreciate all the hard work our GOAT put into this record.
So yeah, actually surprised I liked it this much, even though I was so confused aswell. Just love the vibe, that's all.
