First time Gorillaz has been GENUINELY exciting since 2010's Plastic Beach. Jamie and Damon feel like they're on the same page again and the result is amazing. The album starting with a four and half minute instrumental track is the perfect introduction to the album which draws heavily on indian music for its who run.
"posthumous features from Dennis Hopper (who lent his voice to Demon Days track ‘Fire Coming Out of the Monkey’s Head’ and now appears on the title track), Bobby Womack and Dave Jolicoeur (‘The Moon Cave’), Proof on ‘The Manifesto,’ Tony Allen on ‘The Hardest Thing’ and Mark E. Smith on ‘Delirium.’' -ROLLING STONE
Microtonal madness! jk, caried by the gimmick and probably industry plants
Catchy as hell but some parts can REALLY linger to long, they force every song to be over 5 minutes when most could probably be 3-4. Loop petal most impressive part imo, really do not enjoy vocals.

Rainy day music, several songs built around looped acoustic guitar, vocals "intimate" close to mic and very breathy. Album seems to start extremely melancholic than gradually get more hopeful. And I Dance easily most uplifting song.

DAMN
Reminds me a lot of Blood Incantation, which is HIGH PRAISE. Metal and synths go together like peanut butter and jelly and on this album there utilized to great effect. Punk influenced backing vocals that I'm not a huge fan of but few and far between. Almost all the tracks lead seamlessly into each other and keeps itself interesting throughout the entire hour and three minute run time.
To be fair I was never going to give this album a far shot, but oh my god it's bad. Drake's delivery the entire album sounds genuinely bored, I legitimately cannot imagine the fact he released two other albums the same day. Shockingly I actually enjoyed the beats a far amount, lot of piano or strings Graham A. didn't do a bad job. Drake's flow is no exaggeration elementary and uses eenie meenie minie moe, also lyrics use similes WAY to much with so much of the album being "this is like this, that is like that". The beef between Drake and Kendrick is firmly in the past and even though Kendrick is seen as a lot cornier now Drake love has NOT risen and most people seem to want to move on from the whole thing. Drake is beating the dead horse into the ground and spends so much of the album taking shots at Kendrick, "fought for 30 years".
