Can a melodic death metal band be any more fun than this? The band seems to have a fantastic range and control over all of their instruments, and at no point to me does any of the songwriting seem tired or reused. That's even more of an accomplishment when you consider that there is a 19 minute long song on this album! Legitimately my favourite song, and probably one of my favourite bands to this day!
This is always my go to album for when I want some heavy, but mind bending fuzz. The vocals are a great performance and mesh well with the overall feel of the guitars, and the songwriting is wonderful, letting the lyrics weave between the heavy riffage and pounding drums.
Remarkably fun album, sometimes the snare drum feels a little distracting in the mix and takes away from the overall experience I have with this. But otherwise its a pretty standard techinical(?) death metal album. I always enjoy hearing these guys when they come up in shuffle on my playlists.
Very solid black metal. Got me into this style of music in the first place, somehow. Bonus points because they're not Nazis!
