If I could give an album a more than perfect score, this would be the one I'd give it to.
Genuinely one of my favorite albums ever within the shoegaze/alt scene and my god does this album move you when it gets a chance.
The opener Little Dipper is more of a slow burn, but still hits you hard with that signature Drop D tone and its very hypnotic performance by Matt Talbot, who might just have one of the most soothing singing voices I've ever heard, like an endless campfire on a warm ... read more
I cannot state this enough. This album is a landmark in music, because not only is this the first Deftones release in 5 WHOLE YEARS away from Ohms, this marks their almost 25 year existence (since 1995 with Adrenaline). And not to mention, it puts on, what is in my opinion, some of their best work since Koi no Yokan. The sheer weight of the opening riff on "my mind is a mountain", to the typical chugging sound we usually get on tracks like "locked club" & "cut ... read more
In my opinion, one of the most underrated Sabbath albums, I really don't see this one being talked about nearly as much as something like Paranoid or Master Of The World, and that's kinda sad cus this album has some all times. Yeah this is perfection. One of the best hip hop albums ever made, with some absolute classics that are a staple of Tribe.
"Check The Rhime", "Excursions", "Buggin Out", "Jazz (We've Got), and of course some great deep cuts like "Everything Is Fair" and "Vibes and Stuff" which are just super good with some really chill beats and great lyricism. Personal favorite is Buggin Out but I can't get over how pretty "Jazz" is, it ... read more
A lot of the songs from this album get outshined by All Star (which is fair because that song is pretty good), and I think that's a bit unfortunate because I love all the sounds of every song here. Chilled, laid back vibes, making you feel like you're both in space and on a beach, while a jazz band dressed in classy outfits plays in front of you. To put it simply, I love this album. So many classics like When The Morning Comes, Come On Come On, Can't Get Enough Of You Baby, and ... read more
