Feng - What The Feng
85

A great album, I love the soundscapes that were used in all of his songs.

They Are Gutting a Body of Water - LOTTO
96

One of the best albums I have heard this year. It has definitely made it into my replay list for sure.

Narrow Head - Far Removed
97

Heavy instrumentals where it counts and dream-like vocals where it is needed. This blending of sounds just scratches my brain, where I didn't even know it needed to be scratched. Just an overall good EP

Standouts:
1) Make It Hurt
2) Far Removed
3) In Slow Time

Whirr - Raw Blue
94

This album really does provide me with sounds that just look and feel like raw blue. It sounds just grinds my emotions down to their purest form, just for the vocals to come in and polish them off into a shine.

I really love it when an album like this one can take me somewhere else. Somewhere I may have never been before, where the music is my only guide through this new plain.

Standouts:
1) Crush Tones
2) Collect Sadness
3) Swing Me

Sprain - As Lost Through Collision
95

The mixture of sounds in this album leaves me wanting more from them. The sound is soooo satisfying yet still expresses a slow sound that just makes you want to yell, "get on with it already!!!" but for me, that doesn't hurt the album at all. Honestly, it is what I want from it; I want it to leave me feeling drained and exhausted, and it does just that in the most enjoyable way possible.

Standouts are:
1) Worship House
2) Slant
3) Everything

Geese - Getting Killed
50

It is alright, just not something to write home about tbh. I can see why it is so popular, I just feel like there was still something missing, idk what, but I know there is an empty space within the songs. The album also just gives "Hey, I am different than other guys bc I listen to Indie music."

Only one song stood out to me, and that was the halfway point in Bow Down.

Title Fight - The Last Thing You Forget EP
85

Not my favorite of their works, but it is still Title Fight, and I love that lol.

Standouts
1) Western Haikus
2) Introvert

Title Fight - Spring Songs
100

I used to skip over this EP, but now most of the songs in this EP are in my top ten for sure. The only thing I would change about this EP would be to make it longer so it could've been an album.

Standouts
1) Be a Toy
2) Receiving Line
3) Blush

Modern Baseball - Sports
75

Solid album; some songs were misses, but it was pretty good as a whole. Just a fair warning, tho, DO NOT listen to this album while ruminating on past relationships on public transport at 10 o'clock at night. It may lead to something worse than drunk texting an ex.

Standouts were
1) I Think You Were in My Profile Picture Once
2) Tears Over Beers
3) The Weekend

Horse Jumper of Love - Horse Jumper of Love
80

Nice slow vibes that are filling at their best. I enjoy the way they are able to play with the soundscape of the songs, always adding just a little bit more for me to sink my teeth into.

Standouts are Ugly Brunette, Spaceman, and Dirt.

I love the short story on the album cover as well. It really fits the vibe of the album, and the lil creature at the bottom is pretty cute too.

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
10

Mid ahh hell thought it was alright instrumentally until the lead had to open their mouth

Modern Color - From the Leaves of Your Garden
80

I love all of the hazy/muddy sounds that blend togeather in this album. They transport me to a place of lucide dreaming were I can through my self into other peoples currents to make them dream of me as the lyrics of On & Off say. I would def recomend this album to anyone looking for a shoegaze esk sound.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
75

What a pretty sounding album but that is all it really was for me. I enjoy the folky sounds but it is really an album I would need to be in the mood for. Maybe I need to listen it more to build a stronger opinion on it and I will be happy to listen to it again when the mood is right again.

Wednesday - Bleeds
85

One of my favorite albums released this year, and it is probably my favorite country album to listen to. Her vocals on this album really transport me to a small southern town where everyone knows each other for better or for worse. This album is super refreshing to listen to, given how country music has exploded into the mainstream, where it feels like every popular artist now has to make some sort of shitty country slop album that has no heart in it.

Jazz Liberatorz - Clin d'oeil
90

This album is a very fun listen on its own, while I am studying or just doing whatever. I loved all of the insight into what inspired each rapper to make music and their overall love for it. I also found it pretty cool to learn that the album's name, Clin d'oeil, means to wink or nod at something. However, I was sad to find out how little information was out there about this album, and I think it needs to be talked about more often than it is.

I love the sound of the lead's voice and how she is able to switch from a gut-wrenching scream to a soft, almost childish sound. I also love how all of the instruments in this album each take their turns to push the song to go faster and harder, till there is nothing but sound at the end of the song, only being able to distinguish the lead singer's voice cutting through it all.

dälek - From Filthy Tongue of Gods and Griots
95

This album is sick. My favorite song was definitely Voices of the Ether. I love how the sounds through most of the song feel internal, as if they were my thoughts floating around my head as I walk down a city street late at night, while a horn in the background is the only thing from outside my head that I interact with. Overall, this album is a MUST listen to, even if you might not enjoy this style of music.

Joost - Unity
95

Baller album that includes some citified classics. All I needed to make my week was just a little bit of UNITY

Bad Brains - Bad Brains
65

It just felt basic. I am sure when it was released it was far from basic.
