Finally, my album of the year has dropped. This is a massive step in the right direction for them. The momentum that they had towards the back of Grip Your Fist, I'm Heaven Bound carries over to this album, and they don't let up for a second.

I think that it is consistent with the kind of artist that he has shown himself to be. It is very nostalgic and filled with longing, and I think my biggest criticism is that maybe he doesn't rely on the guitar enough. Kahan's fingerpicking is amazing, and there should be more of it.
This completely subverted my expectations in a good way. I was expecting something less reserved, but the moment I saw the single that was co-written by Georgia Ellery, I knew this album would be something. I like how it’s almost the ultimate mixture of everything to ever come out of the Windmill. Re-doing an old review!!
Since I first reviewed this album when I made my account, I have listened to Ants From Up There literally hundreds of times (at least once a day), not including the thousands of listens since 2022. This album is the best thing that I have ever heard. The emotion that it brings out of me is second to none. The emotion that is poured into every song is something that I have not been able to find anywhere else since its release in 2022.
