Hannah Grae - I Hate London
85

Overall a great record!

Sonically this release feels so much more fleshed out than some of Hannah's earlier work and most of these songs standout in her discography because of it.

Bulletproof might just be my favourite of all her releases!

The only track im not quite fond of is Cupid but that might just be me

Lovejoy - One Simple Trick
70

[DISCLAIMER WILBUR SOOT IS AN ABUSER WHO SHOULD BE LOCKED BEHIND BARS THIS IS FROM A PURE ART PERSPECTIVE I HOPE HE ROTS]

One Simple Trick is an underwhelming record for a band who had great potential

The record struggles from a lot of issues but I think the most prominent one is mixing. The mixing throughout the record feels very inconsistent in quality. Songs like Pay & Display & Scoundrels are quite alright with the mixing however the rest of the record feels quite disconnected in ... read more

Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl
72

The Life Of A Showgirl is the return to pop for world famous pop star Taylor Swift, but is it as profound and new as her other albums.... the answer is sorta

The album opens with "The Fate Of Ophelia" a catchy, pop song about Taylor being saved from the very fate of Hamlets Ophelia. Story wise this album picks up exactly where "The Tortured Poets Department" Left off with Taylor feeling as though she is destined to be driven mad by lovers who are unable withstand the ... read more

James Marriott - Don't Tell The Dog

A step in the right direction!

"Don't Tell The Dog" is James Marriot's sophomore album bringing us into a new pop direction for his music. The album cycle began when "I Don't Want To Live Like This" was released in January of this year gathering a large amount of TikTok fame through James's marketing tactic.

This TikTok marketing continued into the rest of the singles including "Toothache", "It's Only Love", and "Somethings ... read more

The 1975 - Being Funny in a Foreign Language
91

Following Their previous 22 track genre less album "NOACF" The 1975 reel it back with an 11 track burst reminiscent of their previous works.

The album opens with "The 1975" which is a staple of all the bands albums except this time they change it up and make it it's own fully formed song inspired by LCD Soundsystem's "All My Friends"

The 2nd track and single off of the album is "Happiness" a pop / dance track which is similar to work off their ... read more

James Marriott - Are We There Yet?
79

A really solid debut album

A 31 minute 10 track burst of some interesting indie rock vibes with a bit of pop thrown in there.

Top tracks for me would be Don't Blame Me, Going Postal At The Party, And In between

I was never a fan of White Noise when it was released but over time it has grown on me a lot to the point of it not being my least favourite track anymore and my least fav being You Are Here

Overall very solid album

The 1975 - Notes On A Conditional Form
78

Notes On A Conditional Form is one of the most ambitious and riskiest projects I've seen from a pop band and it somehow stuck the landing.

The 1975's 4th LP "Notes On A Conditional Form" is a genre bending record taking notes from genres such as Country, Pop, EDM, Jazz, and even emo.

The first song released for the record was the opener "The 1975" a common theme throughout all of their albums. However this time instead of the usual "Go down, Soft ... read more

Taylor Swift - THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY
90

The Tortured Poets department is some of Taylor Swifts best work yet!

The album follows the heartbreak of swift as she recounts her experience with love over the past 2 years, Showing how her perspective on love has changed throughout her life.

The album opens with the lead single "Fortnight ft Post Malone", The song opens with a soft building synth where Taylor laments over this relationship which has ended.

The 2nd verse introduces the thesis statement for the record as a whole ... read more

Arctic Monkeys - The Car

An Improvement from Tranquillity Base
The Artic Monkeys 7th Studio Album The Car is pretty good

Turner as a lyricist continues to shine all through out the project especially on songs like Big Ideas & Sculptures Of Anything Goes.

Instrumentally a lot of the record is slow while not being boring and disinteresting to listen to.

A true highlight of this record for me is the song Body paint which blends the bands newer more jazz like sound with a sound reminiscent of earlier records. ... read more

Los Campesinos! - All Hell
95

Nearly 20 years after forming Los Campesinos! still sound so fresh!

Released via their own independent label Los Campesinos! bring a fresh, new, and exciting sound with 15 brand new songs.

7 years after their last record All Hell is as rocky, and emo as it can get for Los campesinos.

Lead singer Gareth's vocals sound flawless on this new record and shows the growth he has made vocally over the past 7 albums.

Instrumentally the band has made some of their most impressive songs yet with ... read more
