i decided to give this album a try as the deluxe dropped and i thought make you mine and yes baby were bangers, but i can’t help but feel a bit disappointed. madison has a great voice (i especially loved her high notes on bad enough), but the tracklist is super inconsistent with its sound, most of it feeling like a far cry from the dance-pop advertised from the singles, and to me this album sounds like a bunch of stuff i’ve already heard from ariana grande. she’s got talent, ... read more

i have no idea what to make of this song.

on one hand, it’s fun, the power chords go hard, and i like the “roooooooo-“ stutter more than most.

on the other hand, it’s not as punchy as it wants to be, and what the hell is that “incestuous” line??

then again, i don’t think this song is meant to be taken too seriously lol. but i know charli is capable of so much more

this was my first time hearing a full basement album after liking some of their other output, and i might have to go back further into their discography because this is so peak. it’s a beautiful blend of slacker rock, grungegaze and emo, and an album of the year contender for me so far!
