An impressive record that pivots between maturity and vulnerability.

The Independent
The US pop singer navigates the trauma of early fame and the pain of a recent breakup on this sultry, bold third album.

PopMatters

Locket is a slow-and-steady evolution of Madison Beer’s best features. It’s a highly satisfying, seductive, heartbreaking, heartbroken pop opus.

AllMusic
Notwithstanding its demure title, the album's confessional, still-bitten, twice-shy sentiments assert themselves in steely dance songs and slippery '90s R&B textures.

Rolling Stone

An icon-in-waiting no more, she’s ready for her moment on ‘Locket’.

Paste

The singer’s third album flits between dark siren synth-pop, ‘90’s r&b slow jams, and crunchy 8-bit glitches. It’s her strongest, most focused work yet—and also her most fun.

Pitchfork
There are some decent pop songs on locket, but Madison Beer’s albums continue to feel like a lowest common denominator of trends.

“locket” Album Review - An Admirable, Yet Flawed Attempt At An Artistic Identity

My third favorite of the alcoholic pop girlies, behind Julie Ragbeer and Amy Winehouse, has finally released her new album!

Considering the gap between the lead single and album release was longer than most artists’ album cycles, expectations were obviously high. And while “locket” is pleasant and competent, it still fails to fix the one thing that’s been holding Madison Beer ... read more

This evokes very expensive music with polished vocals that belong in a velvet box. In saying that, it has been utilised very well and have been left impressed by my first Madison Beer album experience.

This album is actually so good. I didn't listen to it when it released cus silence between songs was such an underwhelming album so i didn't really care for locket at first, but then i somehow got recommended complexity and nothing at all and those are so so good. This album showcases madisons more creative side she had shown on her debut album with an evolution to it.
