Possibly the best song Olivia has released thus far in her career. Her vocals are absolutely fantastic, with the final chorus managing to cut extremely deep having been preceeded by the gradual buildup in instrumentation throughout the rest of the track. Whilst I enjoyed drop dead as the lead single, the cure leaves me both extremely excited for the full album, and filled with dread if there are many more songs as gutwrenching as this.
Why did it take so long for me to find out this existed. This is incredible.
As with any modern Bloc Party release, this song is a case of strong instrumentation being paired with bland lyrics. Whilst these lyrics definitely bring the song down in some capacity, the riffs are incredibly catchy and I am overall left cautiously optimistic for a project better than their last two albums.
This is quite an enjoyable song. It’s interesting to see how sombr has grown as an artist through each of his releases, with the production value of his music increasing in quality each step of the way. I really like the use of the vocoder on the refrain here, and the bridge is an earworm.
Incredibly well produced collection of remixes that were debuted at the Nine Inch Noize Coachella performance.
The combined mix of both live and studio versions into one is an interesting choice but ultimately I think it works pretty well, and makes for a cohesive listen. My only real gripe is that Memorabilia continues into the first 20-30 seconds of Came Back Haunted, which sounds a bit disjointed when listening to tracks individually.
