a solid release following a half-year hiatus on the halcyon label. as expected, the production is top notch, full with little details and ear candy that make an amazing listening experience.

personally, i wish there was a bit more exploration in more melodic sounds throughout the ep, such as the motifs heard in "scatter" and "fun", but still a very solid ep nonetheless :)

amazing album that explores more elements of pop and indie-rock in combination with porter's iconic electronic production. "smile :D" is probably the least edm influenced record that porter robinson has produced, containing many indie-pop esque tracks that are great for casual listening, yet many tracks are euphoric and danceable while also being super emotional at the same time.
