So, this is my first time listening to Testament, after constant recommendations from fellow metalheads, and boy, I can see why they asked me to indulge in Testament. This album blew me away. The rapid technical riffing on songs such as 'Into the Pit', 'The New Order', and (my personal favourite song) 'Disciples of the Watch', combined with the blistering solos brought to us by Alex Skolnick, is an absolute assault of the mind. Before I start, I have to make clear : this is, in my opinion, the best thrash metal album of all time. Off the bat, I know that some people may try to show me the door, its true. I LOVE this album. Everything about it. We start with Holy Wars, and wow, what a start it is. The super fast riffing, the smooth transition between the Holy War and the Punishment Due is nothing short of perfect. Where to start? The self-titled 'Megadeth' is a farewell to one of the most important metal bands of the late 80s and early 90s, and a goodbye to our beloved mascot, Vic Rattlehead. This album is pretty damn fun in honesty.
