This album is really quite wonderful! The album starts INSANELY strong, with some of the best production, vocals, and melody work I've ever heard from Lorde (keep in mind, this comes from the perspective of having heard melodrama and pure heroine!) and I'm absolutely entranced by the beauty of the album. The electronic style the album fits into is great, the lyrics hit really hard, and I leave feeling like this is some of Lorde's best work in the best parts. Unfortunately, I do have to say that the album is dragged pretty down by the middle, where it feels like a lot of huge unique elements and big inspiration fell out a bit in exchange for some meh pop stuff that doesn't quite hit the same way. This is absolutely not to say its bad though, I just think it lost a bit of its luster there. However, it comes back strong in the finale with the last 2 songs, which are quite great!
