I listened to this just out of curiosity, and while I'm not super versed in ambient music, I'm surprised at the degree I liked this! It's not the most intricate or diverse ambient album, but the atmosphere and sound design here is a clear highlight that kept me surprisingly entranced from start to finish. Sure, there are some songs with pretty weird openings like Nassau, but then you have songs like Power of Persuasion and Submersible that just nail their atmosphere so well, and feel like I can just close my eyes and imagine a soundscape around me. It sorta slots into the same type of feeling that Boards of Canada has, but I think this album does a bit more at times than Boards of Canada has for me, even if sometimes those weirder ideas fall a bit flat. For that, despite this album doing some weird things every now and then, and being somewhat repetitive on a few tracks, I gotta say that I enjoyed this all in all!
