MACHINE

I honestly went into this with fairly high expectations, as someone who has generally enjoyed F.O.O.L stuff and really quite liked some of his recent EPs of recent times, but this debut album is a miss all around. It has a somewhat strong beginning, but none of the songs breach any higher than like an 8/10 at best, being good but not great, but then from Vibrance onward the album just takes a complete nosedive into boring or bland synthwave/midtempo. The collaborators help carry a lot of the songs to being fairly good (hayve, Waveshaper, PYLOT, Jnathyn especially) but they don't do enough to drag down a lackluster effort from F.O.O.L, and especially considering how lacking in impact this album is. I honestly just think F.O.O.L's whole style isn't built very well for albums, more so for EPs.
