the level at which this album succeeds at controlling its chaotic songwriting and crazed energy is honestly unreal. the production is stellar for an early punk album, the entire thing is airtight and allows the album to flow effortlessly despite some of its juxtaposing ideas. i personally think "secrets", "trem two", and "dead pool" are three of the best post punk songs ever recorded.
i want to rate this higher but some of the songs didn't do it for me as much others, namely "train" and "learn how", but this is still a fantastic and endlessly impressive post punk album.
