I already wasn't that much of a fan of Give Me Your Shoulders, but at least there were about half good and half bad/mediocre songs on that project. I can't really say the same for this new project by half alive. There are very few new songs that this album has that I would consider good and not bland or boring. There are some songs that have some cool instrumental parts, but almost everything else about them is forgettable and not interesting. Wish there was a bit more variety and interesting ... read more
Brendon continues to make dull and bland music because he lacks band members. Many of the songs blend together and sound like they have the exact same guitar riffs and melodies. I do like how he tries to do some experimental stuff in some of the songs, but it never really lands great IMO. Viva Las Vengeance was the only song I didn't have that many problems with. The rest are boring or really bad.

a pretty big step down from Now, Not Yet for me. most of the songs here are pretty mediocre or just straight-up bad and uninteresting. the tracks that weren't singles (which was only 3 of them) are better than most of the rest of the project. am hoping part 2 will be a little bit better, but who knows.

Jon Bellion's new single after two years is a pretty different take on his style, feeling kinda similar to his last record GSP but with a whole new take on it. The main idea and lyrics of the song are pretty basic, as with some of Jon Bellion's stuff, but the production of this song is something pretty new from him. The bleep bloop sounds, the groovy drums and bass, the plucky guitar, and the horns in the post-chorus makes it sound pretty spacey and funky with Jon and Burna Boy's vocals. If ... read more
twenty one pilots' self titled is a very Christian and way different sounding start for this band, created by the original band members Tyler Joseph, Chris Salih, and Nick Thomas. I enjoy nearly every song on this album, and I think it is up there with Trench for me.
"Implicit Demand For Proof" starts with this nice, beautiful piano and strings and then slowly turns into this angrier instrumental with Joseph singing about his religious struggles on whether God is real or not. Asking ... read more
This is a really boring and forgettable album for the most part. Only a few songs are actually good, and pretty much this entire album Drake is being carried by his features.
FAVORITE TRACKS: Fair Trade, You Only Live Twice
LEAST FAVORITE TRACKS: Girls Want Girls, Way 2 Sexy, Fucking Fans
FINAL RATING: 3.5/10
Scaled and Icy isn't terrible, but it is not nearly as good as Trench was. It has a really strong beginning and end, but I really wish they had done more with the whole Dema thing because the transition into "No Chances" is so sudden. Many of the middle tracks on this are not nearly as rememberable as some of their previous work in my mind. That being said, there are some bangers and solid tracks on this project, but the whole thing feels slightly lackluster.

While this album is still very insufferable, with "Why Socialism by Albert Einstein (edited for length)" not even really qualifying as song (he's literally just reading it the majority of the time), I find the fact that he did not care and just threw this album up makes it a tiny bit better than the revenge. With the revenge, it felt like he was trying to make something good, and it ended up terrible. But with this, it feels like he didn't give any fucks and just made this. I find the ... read more
Half Alive's debut album is still something I listen to all the time and love very much. I am not at all a religious person, and somehow this album is all about being Christian and I enjoy it so much. The songs' Christian tones are told way better than most other musical pieces with religious tones I have heard in the past. Not to mention the sound of this album too. The drums, the synths, the vocals, all blend together very well into this album and sound amazing. The song "creature" ... read more
"Don't play guitar in the park and just sit, if I hear another G chord I'm breaking your shit" - Hobo Johnson, Subaru Crosstrek XV
This is really upsetting. I have been a fan of Hobo Johnson for over a year now, and was a massive fan of his projects "The Rise" and "The Fall". I found Hobo to be a really unique and interesting music maker, with the combinations of sounds, effects, spoken word, and the rawness of emotions that he would put out. It seems a lot of ... read more
