I really wasn’t excited for this, as I have had lots of problems with Peggy’s music. The singles dropped for the record was really bad and his controversial way of marketing the album made it so much more unlikable. Though, I can’t help but be pretty disappointed even if it’s what I expected. To give some positives, Peggy does somewhat experiment with a newer sound in areas. Certain tracks have production that digs into dubstep and noisy electronic sounds. It’s ... read more
Fun and hard to dislike but I can’t deny after two listens I still feel pretty mixed on the overall record. April going into this album is clear, she is a popstar. It’s been her dream and ever since her bigger blow from Wallsocket or working with people like Danny Brown, it was the thing to finally let her make the dream project. The production of the album is electric, April self produced the entire album and it’s extremely impressive. Her vocals are also great and have a lot ... read more
I've been a devoted yeat fan for some time now, his first record in 2024 '2093" is to be honest one of my favorite hip hop/rap projects of the 2020s decade. His experimentation with atmosphere and creating a futuristic and dystopian vibe is very well executed and it showed me that Yeat had it in him to change his sound. He would get a lot of backlash from it by his older fans that wanted him to stick to the more aimless rage trap hits like Up 2 me or 2Alive. It would make him ... read more
An interesting step for Jack Harlow, done in the least interesting way possible. Jack, one of the biggest rappers of the early 2020s, goes on hiatus for a bit to reflect on himself and eventually get “Monica”. Of this decade, Jack had been known to make very pop rap type music. It’s really accessible and was perfect for RapCavier users. This would really be shown on his 2022 record “come home the kids miss you” which was successful in the Grammys and commercially ... read more
This makes me want to relisten to Hornet Disaster, which I really liked. It didn’t think i’d love this project as much as I did but it was an experience that left me really emotional and impactful. Sputnik as a vocalist is powerful and raw, their performances on tracks leave an impact. Almost like someone breaking down on a microphone that is a bit damaged, but it kinda works? This would be seen more on ‘Hornet Disaster’ which is also done very well there. At times the ... read more

I gotta say I am quite impressed with this record! Nettspend is an artist I haven’t particularly liked due to not enjoying ‘BAD ASS FUCKING KID’ very much but this is a step up in every direction. Focusing on the abrasive and noisy rage sound was the correct way to go for this project. Nett’s biggest criticism he gets is his voice which I do understand why. I don’t think it particularly works on BAFK. The whiny cadence reminded me of someone like Che or Playboi ... read more

Denzel has been really pushing this project on twitter, saying stuff like “THIS IS NOT LIKE KOTMS”, “QUESTIONING ON ONLY 8 TRACKS? WAIT FOR MORE” or “YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE ALBUM START TO FINISH, NO MATTER WHAT”. I definitely do agree with his last statement but these tweets kinda made me a bit worried about the project. This is because the last time it feels like an artist did this was Metro Boomin with his summer mixtape, which was pretty bad. I ... read more

A small swing and a miss. This record had a ton of anticipation and interest to it. It was Joji’s first album with a new label that didn’t rush him— which is how we got SMITHEREENS. Though, even with all that time he delivers his weakest album to date. Joji has never been great at crafting entire albums. he’s been great with singles and songs themselves but struggles to make a cohesive and consistent tracklist.
Piss In The Wind has all the pieces to change that. ... read more

Bruno Mars, biggest artist in the world, drops his first solo album in a decade… and it’t not very good. i should probably preface that I’m not a fan of bruno Mars, I find his music very boring and lame. With the announcement of this, I was curious to see what he could possibly bring to the table. Maybe surprise his audience with a new sound or style but no, he continues to be biased towards the middle aged white moms and weddings. Bruno shows no progression as an artist ... read more

Very saddened by not really caring for this record as it looked right up my alley. Cloud rap as a genre is a dice roll because it could be some of the most creative of the hip hop genre and also the opposite effect. On this project, it is a mix of cloud rap and ambient music which is a cool fusion of two sounds. At times it could work and it is really entirely because of Twoxp’s performance herself. She has a wonderful voice and matches a lot of the tracks really well, it really lifts ... read more

Nostalgic Indie Pop slop, you’ve heard this type of album hundreds of times from other artists. The big elephant in the room is track #2 ‘Outnumbered’ which practically supports the idea of the great replacement theory. It’s horrible and doesn’t fit the tracklist either with how it sticks out like a sore thumb thematically. If you even have the idea of ignoring that track it doesn’t excuse how shallow and stale the rest of the record is. Repetitive and ... read more

Pure chaos, I missed it so much
Rocky’s one of my favorite artists of all time. He’s someone who has something for everybody. He’s a chameleon in hip hop always being able to hop on stuff so perfectly like r&B, trap, cloud rap or slower paced tracks. Don’t be dumb, his album in nearly a decade, did not disappoint. It brings back his messy but conscious album sequencing in maybe the most interesting way yet. The album has cinematic transitions or skits that feel ... read more

Interesting ideas and choices that ultimately go no where. Charli XCX has proven herself to be one of the most unique and diverse mainstream pop artists of the last 10 years. How i’m feeling now, BRAT and self titled are all records that goes out of the box in the genre and experiment with other sub genres. The approach to wuthering heights having more classical production or classical instruments is very intriguing— fitting the theme of Wuthering Heights. The idea at points ... read more

J. Cole, one of hip hop’s biggest figures, drops his long awaited album and I have lots of thoughts. I’ve been a fan of him as an artist for a while now, I think he has tons of flaws but this album felt like his true shining moment. As I finished the album, I didn’t really know how to feel. It has some of his highest highs of his music career. 39 intro shows this more psychedelic rock production in its first half which would transition to a fast paced hip hop song with ... read more

Baby Keem, proves himself with this record that he has nothing of storage on his own and still has to rely on Kendrick (who is also at a low point quality wise). After half a decade of no album whatsoever this comback should have shown some sort of improvement or progression as an artist. He splashed big onto the hip hop scene with accessible tracks to anyone who wanted more hyped tracks, melodic tracks. Melodic Blue, his previous project, suffers from an aimless direction and being to ... read more
Don Toliver has never been good at crafting an album, this is even more proof of that. After his big success of ‘HARDSTONE PSYCHO’, he decides the biggest parts of that album should be the entire thing next time (similar to how Travis Scott made JB2 off of the big moshpit bangers of ‘Utopia’). The record has hints of great production sprinkled throughout the entire song. E85 is a standout as it feels like floating in the air and All The Signs having more glitchy ... read more
In the massive wave of phoned in shitty trap albums, we see kind of a improvement with Kiari but not that much. One thing i’’ll give Offset is that the album does feel genuine, it is in ways about his brother, Takeoff and member of Migos, who passed away unfortunately. The song with John Lennon is genuinely great and very sweet,You can feel all of his pain and sadness he has about Takeoff. Straying away from the sad stuff we also get a fun banger like Bodies with a killer JID ... read more
Pure Slop.
Gunna is the type of rapper I do’t get why he is as popular as he is. He is an “”””artist”””” who doesn't care about the art form in the slightest. Not going to spend much time on this because, you really can’t. Gunna did the same flow for 24 songs straight and it becomes headache inducing. The only song that isn’t the same production and flow is the outro which is arguably the worst song. He is doing the same ... read more
Previously, ‘Tyler, The Creator’ drops/surprise drops his very anticipated album ‘Chromakopia’. A couple months later he drops another album and it’s pretty different from what we expect from him. Tyler’s an artist that has experimented a lot with his career and records, albums like igor and flower boy experiment with neo soul or a conceptual narrative. This time Tyler experiments with making a dance album. It is his shortest tracklist and length by far only ... read more
One of the most embarrassing listens I’ve had to sit through for an album, got to listen to this on the big speakers at the movie theater because of the listening event they were putting on. My entire theater was practically empty which I found funny. Getting off track, this album is a mess. Filled with some of Taylor’s worst lyricism and songs ever. Aside from those aspects that make the album so bad, it gets even worse because it’s BORING. The production of the project is so ... read more
