Unique, beautiful, and interesting don't even begin to describe the entrancing sounds on this album. The focal point of this record lies in Kevin Shields guitar work. Using effects pedals to his absolute advantage to create unparalleled sonic landscapes. Soaring guitar sounds, and strange, droning melodies played over beautiful chord progressions create a full and flowing experience to entrance anyone. Of course the songs are catchy too. The production on this record is great as well. Despite ... read more
What can I say about this album. It perfectly blends genres, and introduces new ideas to listeners. Including weird drum patterns, and crazy vocals, psychedelic sounds, and insanely intense and emotionally gut wrenching lyrics. This album brings an unforgettable experience.

Sloppy and indolent flows are found on the widely acclaimed "Some Rap Songs" by Earl Sweatshirt. No matter how hard I tried, and trust me I did try, I could not pay attention to the songs on this record. Repetitive and boring don't even begin to describe the beats on this album, offering little to no beat changes anywhere on any of the songs here. The shorter lengths of the songs here certainly help with the static beats, but I still find that most of the tracks are still too long. ... read more
What can say about this record. It's unique sampling, and smooth, and creative bars go full force in creating one of the most incredible rap experiences I've ever heard. DOOM unleashes the beast with some of the best rap beats that have ever graced my ears. Insane rhyming also grace us on this unique hip-hop legend. Witty lyrics, and comic book references, and the supervillains insane flow are only some of the things to rave about with this beast of a record. RIP to the GOAT. MF DOOM.

Where do I even begin with this one. This is one of the greatest albums of all time. Combining sludge and doom, with groove, psychedelic, and progressive metal elements. Filled with weird riffs, odd time signatures, and strange guitar tunings. Chris Cornell also cements his position as one of the greatest vocalists of all time with his performances on here. He bring fierce highs, and solemn lows. He also sings about the topics of addiction, death, suicide, and depression. Entrancing are the ... read more
This album offers a great mix of funk and metal. With hard, fast slappy riffs, vicious screams, and laid back grooves this album offers a fun listen. This was before they had a DJ so there was no sampling or scratching on this record While the productions rough around the edges, and some of the songs are forgettable the songs stand really stand out.

There's so much hype surrounding this record that I just don't understand. The songs on this record, for me, just felt like walls of sound hitting my eardrums, but never entering my mind. I don't find this album bad, nor do I even find it boring but it was just very seldom that the guitars ever entranced me, or I ever felt any emotion trying to be conveyed. I was totally lost and confused during my listens of this record, not being able to connect with it personally.

What is there to love about this record. All it is, is stereoscopic feedback, and one note. Are there drums? I don't know because the mix is so squashed and lo-fi. Everybody loves this album but I don't get it. What's the appeal of a stagnant note. I personally am a huge fan of "Drone," and "Doom," but this album just bores me. The only reason why this isn't a 1 or a 0 is because A) I enjoyed the first couple of minutes of this, and B) the covers pretty badass.
Godspeed paints us dusty, atmospheric picture of a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Ambient droning strings, and western-esque guitar riffs. It also serves as a great soundtrack while playing a video game like Fallout. My only personal problem with the album is its length. Some of the sections lost me in how long they drone on for, but it overall gave me an enjoyable experience.
Cherub Rock - 9/10
This is the best way they could’ve opened this record. It captures the aggressive tonalities of their sound, and blends it with the softer more psychedelic tendencies. It’s iconic guitar riff, roaring solo, and catchy chorus do a great job at opening up this truly amazing record.
Quiet - 8.5/10
This is easily one of the heavier cuts on the album; but that doesn’t take away from its dreamy atmosphere. Its (mostly) soft sung vocals, linear guitar riff, ... read more
