Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
94

Always believed that this was a solid album with incredible songs, gave it my full attention on a listen and its some of the best music I've heard, incredible listen.

Radiohead - Just (For College)
86

Some reviews on this don't seem to have actually listened to this EP which is odd. India Rubber is an amazing song (laugh part is an acquired taste), Maquiladora and How Can You Be Sure? are very solid pieces of work, the live verison of Just has some very extravagant vocals from Thom but the ending is incredible it drops so hard.

Radiohead - My Iron Lung

A first really strong entry into the Radiohead discography, really good songs throughout, although it drops off and mellows out towards the end, the melodies still stay strong and it's an intriguing listen all of the way through. Some of The Bend's B-Sides are truly under-appreciated

Radiohead - Itch

(Just for Banana Co.) - Quite cool track, 75/100 for me.

Radiohead - Pop Is Dead
71

A lot of the comments on youtube made this seem infamous, just seemed like a silly not much of a song. It was fun and had a good grove though.

Radiohead - Pablo Honey
70

The idea of this album being overhated is true in my opinion - however, what about this album being underrated?

In short, no.

This album is very fairly criticised by most reasonablle people and there are good reasons why. This album is a slog to get through. Getting towards the back half of the album it feels like you're listening to the same song in different tunes over and over again and they start to blur together. There are some big misses on the lineup, such as Thinking About You, ... read more

Radiohead - Anyone Can Play Guitar

Kinda underwhelming release. ACPG is a decent enough track, the other two don't do much for me. Coke Babies funny name tho, had some cool distorted guitars which felt like some more early signs of experimentation

Radiohead - Creep
73

Creep is a phenomenal song despite its critics. It is just a great emotional hit.

As for the other tracks, Inside My Head and Million Dollar Question are good expressive tracks that show a bit of Radiohead's immaturity at the time but manage to have fun (Inside My Head has a great guitar solo) and still create a sold listen.

Lurgee falls into the same problem I think the majority of Pablo Honey has. Lazy and formulaic, feels like they're making a song for a song's sake.

Radiohead - Creep EP
NR

Yes I am is a solid track - 75/100

The Blow Out remix is definitely cool and worth a listen, Creep's acoustic version is fine but doesn't beat the original.

Radiohead - Drill
68

The first EP release from Radiohead is a bit of a polarising mix for me. I quite like You and Stupid Car, one for the powerful vocals/instrumental and the other for being quite sweet and soft.

On the other hand, Prove Yourself is quite boring and repetitive, never really growing through the song, and Thinking About You is just rough. Not the right style of vocals and not the right mixing for the guitars. The demo is a much better idea of the song

Radiohead - Radiohead

Bang average.

Radiohead - Stupid Car (Tinnitus Mix)
NR

Just Stupid Car with wind overlayed on it. What did Radiohead mean by this?

Radiohead - First Tapes
64

I think I Can't and You definitely gained something on Pablo Honey that wasn't here. Thinking About You actually sounds better though (not a hard job).

Phillipa Chicken was a bit unremarkable, Nothing Touches Me was quite cool and funky. Average bunch of tracks, sounding a bit more like Radiohead

Radiohead - On a Friday
46

The early version of stop whispering isn't great, the other two have their own problems but definitely unique.

Radiohead - The Greatest Shindig
44

What a rough collection of tracks this was. A very very interesting listen which was slightly disappointing after hearing the songs on Gripe, but there were some really interesting takeaways from this album. Here are the biggest highlights for me.

Climbing Up a Bloody Great Hill - Incredibly strong Dire Straits/Money for Nothing vibes here. Radiohead definitely loved stealing ideas from massive bands back here (take for example The Smiths-esque song on their first demo)

Radiohead - Gripe

Wow, this was actually a really good listen. Each song had it's own big thing that makes this demo really worth it for anyone who likes Radiohead. Happy Song just has an obscenely positive instrumental, Brilliant Light has an incredible vocal performance from Thom and the horns on Sinking Ship are really cool. Great time had here.

Radiohead - Medicinal Sounds
NR

Unfortunately no signs of the songs not on the inital demo release on the internet, if anyone finds them let me know!!

Radiohead - On a Friday

As other people here have said, there is clear potential in this first release from these guys. Definitely a little shaky and they clearly hadn't found their sound yet, but there were signs of experimenting and some genuinely good music here. Would've wished to hear this in full quality, might've made a few songs worse than they are. Lock the Door is a good little track on this one.

Arctic Monkeys - Humbug
78

a lot of ups and downs. i feel like some of the slow stuff doesnt really hit very well on this one. nice visiting this as a fan who this went under the radar for. fun little album, more highs than lows for sure.
