Mitski - Nothing's About to Happen to Me
55

I feel like this is one of the more average mitski records. There are some great moments but it seems just another helping of typical mitski

Wait, What Did You Say? - Stay Safe, Little One.
80

Emo is so back. Occasionally cringe lyrics, but the crisp production and sticky riffs/melodies more than make up for it

hemlocke springs - the apple tree under the sea
85

While this started out a little bumpy, I really loved every song from w-w-w-w-w through the end of the album. There’s something mysterious about hemlocke springs that always keeps me invested in their songs. Their voice and production are truly one of a kind

Quadeca - i.ii.iii
80

ambient fans when the chord changes after 10 minutes (jk this is really great)

By Storm - My Ghosts Go Ghost
70

I really like the lyrical content and some of the production is next level, I just don’t feel like their deconstructed/disjointed flows on every song keep me as interested as I want to be. I want to like this album more than I do.

They’re clearly very talented and have a unique identity which I can appreciate. I think By the Time I Get to Phoenix was a stronger release

Searows - Death in the Business of Whaling
75

Solid sad / melancholy indie folk singer songwriter project that I think will grow on me. I like the spacey moody vibe across the album, but did feel a little dragged on at some points

Shea - Eskipade
65

Cool little project! Loved the guitar parts especially and the vocals are pretty solid for the most part. Wish it was longer and a bit more fine tuned but the raw production also makes it unique.

Dry Cleaning - Secret Love
40

Pretty underwhelmed by this one. There isn’t anything glaringly horrible, but it’s pretty stale and boring. After hearing the first 2-3 songs you’ve heard the whole album.

A$AP Rocky - Don't Be Dumb
65

Solid A$AP Rocky return with some pretty decent songs but nothing earth-shattering. Felt a bit safe and conventional for an 8 year album gap

Addison Rae - Addison
80

Addison truly has her finger on the pulse of the direction of American culture. Maybe not the most revolutionary pop album ever, but truly a strong debut statement with some great production choices and compelling, catchy songs

Quadeca - Vanisher, Horizon Scraper
80

Quadeca continues to prove himself as one of the most successful genre-benders of the 2020s and has solidified himself as a revolutionary indie pop force and no longer a YouTube-rapper.

Black Country, New Road - Forever Howlong
80

We are so back like Isaac never left. What a creative new direction for them to follow up their monumental start to their careers - excited to see what they do next!

Bon Iver - SABLE, fABLE
80

Love that Bon Iver finally made a happy album

acloudyskye - This Won't Be The Last Time
80

Great mix of shoegaze / dream pop / indie rock with juuuuuust a hint of Midwest Emo.

Ethel Cain - Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You
85

Heart wrenching listen front to back. I preferred this to Preachers Daughter, but I also think it made that album more interesting with the added context and in-depth storytelling - this just showcased her vocals and production talent in a better way.

Jane Remover - Revengeseekerz
95

Nonstop energy, crazy chaotic production, and some of the best sample usage of the 2020s. Jane is unstoppable

ROSALÍA - LUX
90

Rosalias boldest album yet and one of modern musics biggest statements. She refused to be defined by genre and took a bold risk by going into classical/orchestral (in 13 different languages, casually) and the production does the genre justice. Her vocals are ridiculously insane too, so much to love about this album

PinkPantheress - Fancy That
95

I had so much fun listening to this, Pink Pantheress continues to be one of the most interesting artists in the pop/dance sphere. Nonstop fun

Ninajirachi - I Love My Computer
95

Peak electronic dance music. London song to F*** My Computer might be the best 3 track run in the electronic genre.
