convolk - Swan Dive

Swan Dive was originally a very mixed bag for me upon release. I had songs I absolutely loved and others I just couldn't click with but time has given me a nostalgic fondness of this LP and how solid a body of work it is. As a hardcore Convolk fan I can state that this is one of his best projects to date.

The album kicks off with a bang with Track 1, Swan Dive. Swan Dive begins with sweeping synths as the producer tags play through until it transforms into a plucky guitar riff with Convolk's ... read more

Smokepurpp - FLORIDA JIT

This is so bad, I had to express my opinion on it. Poor man's Comethazine is back at it again with the same song but worse every time. The features are the only good part and why I gave this project an 8 instead of 0. Smokepurpp is out of ideas and it shows when he says the same line for the tenth time on ten different songs. Ronny J's beats are the most monotonous thing ever and having Smokepurpp doing his awful lines over them slowly drives me towards insanity. There is no fun to be found ... read more

convolk - LONEWOLF

Lonewolf is the project that introduced me to Convolk back in 2018 so I might have a bit of a bias towards it because the project has so much nostalgia for me. I skipped over bursting hearts and night terrors, blue sky blue boy and life is going by too quickly because I'm only covering projects that I have listened quite a few times and have formed a proper opinion on. I will also skip Rough And Tumble but I have given them user scores to show my general consensus upon those projects. Overall ... read more

convolk - caught in a hailstorm

The first LP from Convolk coming just short of two months after his debut EP, basement fatigue and truly feels like a big fanfare for a possible future pioneer of the emo-rap genre. It is a great introduction to the style that Covolk would later perfect and is a overall enjoyable listen.

The first track is dead in december. This track is a example of the massive leap in quality that Convolk had in just short while. The song is much more sinister than anything on basement fatigue and the ... read more

convolk - basement fatigue

A decent debut for underground emo-rap artist Convolk, this is more dismal and dreary than his other projects and the DIY production adds to this but there is a hint of a homely feel to it like you are listening to a relative telling you stories about their misfit years and lost loves.

The first track, ritchie makes me cry is an ode to friendship and camaraderie and how bonds between friends, no matter how strong, can eventually break. Even though this is the first track it is the highlight ... read more
