Really good way to debut a group, it was like a breath of fresh air when it came out. NewJeans getting their main influence towards the UK charts rather than the go-to mainstream US pop. They already have a defined identity in the K-Pop spectrum which is kind of impressive this early in their career.
The EP is made of 3 really catchy songs (Attention, Hype Boy and Cookie) but what I consider is the best track is probably Hurt that has a real chill vibe, simple but charming production and a ... read more
This album is just absolute cinema. We couldn't have dreamed of a better ending of Abel career's as 'The Weeknd' than Hurry Up Tomorrow.
This is, dare I say, clearly the best work of his career. All that Abel has mastered through his years in the music industry have reached their climax in this work, while still bringing something new on the table, experimenting his sound more.
"Hurry Up Tomorrow" is grandiose, a perfect summary of the last 2 albums he dropped ... read more
One of the best project that saw the light of day in K-Pop. A true ode to synth-pop and retro sound while still sounding pretty modern, they didn't make a retro album becvause "why not ?", each track has its on personnality, its own uniqueness, even the weirder, less enjoyable ones.
Reboot, has paved the way, buikt the foundations of what will sound like the future retro trend of the early 2020s in K-Pop (LADIDA by Everglow, Chiquita by Rocket Punch, Killer and Bad Love by ... read more
Great album ! Despite having a great cover, this album also have some great music in it.
It's always a nice feeling to feel some liberty in an artist musical career, and it's clearly the case here. I'm not the biggest fan, I like some of their stuff but I'm not a huge consumer of their music.
So hearing somoene has big as BTS' leader RM doing a solo experimental rap / néo-soul / jazz rap, far way closer to his own musical taste gives me hope and also makes me ... read more
Extremely personnal album by Ariana Grande, loaded with a lot of pop/R&B bangers but without a real continuity in its composition. eternal sunshine only feels like a succession of songs, very good for the most part, but still a few misses (I still don't see any appeal in "we can't be friends").
True Story is one of Ariana's best songs of her career, the groove in it is unmatched, great chorus, fantastic ending.
Of course, the vocal performance is still awesome, ... read more
Album's not finished, album sounds awful, album would be rated a 12/100 if Ty Dolla wasn't here, he legitemaly carried every single song by himself, he made like 3/4 of the songs at least listenable, his hooks on Burn, Do It are perfect, really pleasing to listen to.
But yeah there are songs in this LP that are just straight up hell, Hoodrat has easily one of the most obnoxious sounding production I've ever heard. Back To Me could have bean a good song if it was just Ty and ... read more
An easy top 3 Kanye album for me, it's probably his more personnal, introspective ever. I kinda miss this time when Kanye was doing conceptual tracks in conceptual albums while still being relevant and not a complete douchebag.
Violent Crimes is one of the songs that resonates the most in me, like ever. And it's of course because of Kanye's performance but mainly because of 070 Shake's debut, extremely emotional, moving.
And it's for me the last where we could have ... read more
It's fun, it's queer, it's vintage, it's full of personnality, it's personal, it's a pure pleasure to listen to. Thanks Chappell Roan for making music like this.
Supernatural : 92

Great "Japanese" debut. They're sticking to their roots while exploring new horizons on the music side, adding new influences, new music genres, new inspirations.
They're still coded as a group doing R&B / Drum n Bass. But there is a twist this time, Pharrell is credited as a producer, resulting in a funky, New Jack Swing, city-pop mix that is sounding incredibly good. It's fun, funky, with great vocals. A great track.

What can I say, I've listened to K-Pop for a while now, and we can even say I've listened to music in general for a while. Few are the songs that made me feel something like Ditto did. It's without a doubt my favorite song in K-Pop history and dare I say at least Top 5 in music for me.
Every single time I hear the start of the song, it gives me chills, everytime I hear the prechorus, it gives me chills, everytime I hear the chorus, it gives me chills, let's even say the ... read more
Truly one of the greatest EPs in the history of K-Pop that could have been even better if Get Up was more than just an interlude, it's such a waste of what could have been one of the best songs in K-Pop too, those few seconds sounds heavenly, groovy, true musical beauty.
Other minus is ASAP that fits well as the outro of an album, but despite lasting only 2 min, gives us a lot of nothing, I understand the concept of the song, but it's just unappealing and a bit empty.
Otherwise, the ... read more
Truly beautiful. Sounds heavenly. If dreaming was an album. Ikinokori Bokura is one of the greatest songs ever.
Something is very cosmic about this album, it's a weird feeling but it feels like Imaginal Disk is a record that is coming straight out of space. One of the most beautiful sounding album I've ever heard, every track felt like a treat even if it's still very all over the top, very avant-garde, it didn't stopped the pleasure I had while listening to it.
Great record, amazing record, huge replay ability, the instrumentals are gorgeous, the performance is top notch, nothing ... read more
Charli always showed us a refreshing, exciting side of the pop music spectrum that can sometimes be called bland.
But this year we had a pretty good pop music year so far, and somehow, with "brat",Charli still managed to drop the best pop album this year and maybe the best of the decade so far.
This LP have some of the best lyrics of Charli's discography and easily the catchiest hooks. It's the perfect album from Charli we all waited for.
