i saw this like 6 minutes after it dropped and my jaw was on the fucking floor when i first listened. i was watching the genius transcription happen in real time and everything. the alchemist beat goes crazy and kendrick's writing here matches it for sure. absolute perfection
it was a nice listen, as clairo generally is, but nothing too stand-out for me in this one. curious about the album though!

Coming hot off the heels of their first EP, Knocknarea, Maruja had some pretty big expectations to uphold. For me it was one of my, if not my absolute favorite EP of 2023. Upon hearing it last year, I immediately fell in love with their unique post-punk/jazz/post-rock/post-hardcore/whatever sound.
