this album is what really got me into franz ferdinand properly, which is kind of surprising in hindight? as an album, the human fear does stumble a little, starting off with the best song in the entire album and only going downhill from there. besides cats, there is no song i actually dislike, but i do wish there were some more standout songs. with birds, black eyelashes and hooked, there's still plenty to enjoy, but as with the song bar lonely, i feel like this album cuts its best moments ... read more

this is probably my least favorite ff album. with the first 4 songs (especially stand on the horizon!!!) and goodbye lovers and friends it still contains some of their best work. to go from one of my favorite songs period to fresh strawberries is however nothing short of painful. this album also contains the universe expanded, which is probably my least favorite ff song. still good, but could be much better!

this album is weird. it is genuinely my favorite type of ff sound, it's so good omg UP UNTIL IT ISN'T. lucid dreams goes on for way too long, which wouldn't be an issue if it acc went somewhere, but i don't think it does enough to warrant the length. dream again is one of my least favorite songs and katherine kiss me is good, but i don't think it works as a last song. still an incredible album tho!
