as a first time underscores listener, i was not expecting much. however, each track continued to grow on me. they all have a different sound, but each track still resonates to the overall sound of the album. definitely an album that you have to listen through in one sitting rather than just listening to individual tracks and calling it a day.
★ [hollywood forever, the peace, love field, wish you well]
a rather late review, given i listened to this album when it came out. however. i just never listened to it again. so many tracks off of this album were just so average, especially for mr. mars. i feel like the ballads off this album were much more fun to hear compared to the more upbeat and silk sonic-esque tracks. even then, i feel like i could (respectfully) hear the vocal strain in the last track
★ [why you wanna fight?, god was showing off, nothing left]
to preface: i have listened to a few tracks before, and might have used that as the grading scale for the rest of the tracks. the beats and producing are all really good, but some kinda feel like a paraphrased version of a previous beat, if that makes sense. the flow of each track are all very fitting, and set the vibe whenever played.
★ [mist, 4 raws, rottweiler]
can’t lie, the track is very straightforward. part of me wishes there was more. another part of me is glad that it stayed the way it was because i just know it’ll grow on me. is the return of bruno mars what they call a recession indicator?
another album i listened throughout finals week and a huge standout to me was the riffs throughout the album were just amazing. each track felt like it had its own identity. i definitely enjoyed the second half of the album, but the tracks overall are so good to listen to; even standalone
★ [shoot you down, this is the one, i am the resurrection, fools gold]
i finally decided to listen to this album during finals week and the energy each track gave was crazy. honestly gave me so much energy and motivation to push through my finals and go to a local show to mosh.

so i see a shared sentiment throughout many other reviews: you can hear the musical influence through most of his tracks. sometimes it can be irritating, but i feel as if its almost fun to hear throughout the tracks. many people compare this ep to keery's discography and the transition to music, but i feel as if many listeners aren't aware that wolfhard himself is not new to making music. in no means am i trying to say this is the best ep made by anyone ever, but some people should ... read more
i listened to this the day after cena retired and there really are some ear catching tracks. the second half of the album though (might just be me), falls kinda flat. its like an experimental album, but decides what sound it wants to go for halfway and it just personally doesnt stick.
★ [the time is now, right now, just another day]
sometimes i feel as if ikki can be a hit or miss. this track in particular reminds me of those club scenes in movies; obviously makes sense, but this is being said with the sentiment that the beat is generic sounding. i guess a pro to this is that it can transition to the next track well on a dj set, and that it could potentially get in my head. dont think the second one's the case though because the beat just wasnt ear-catching enough :(
the beat can be crazy, the bars might be hot ass! most of the tracks are not completely horrible, and can be played entirely, but towards the end, yuno miles really makes sure you remember who you're listening to. is that a good thing? rather subjective to the listener, but a lot of these tracks have potential.
the beats on every track? not a single one fell short. i enjoyed bossanova a little more than i thought i would, but the simple bassline throughout the track adds so much flair. almost reminds me of rapping on royalty free beats. herobrine truly shines as i will play it to test my subwoofers.
★ [رجل واحد. bossanova, herobrine]
snooper's instrumentation never fails to either make me dance, or severely lock in on whatever task im doing. their cover of come together truly isn't as bad as the rating is on here, but isn't as cohesive alongside the rest of the album which could be a reason to its rating.
★ [opt out, worldwide, guard dog, hologram, star 6 9]
i made an edit to loose canon back in 2019 and finally found the song, to which i listened to the entire album. this album does have its moments, but really truly shines through production and instrumentals. sometimes the vocals fit in with the song, other times, the vocals and lyricism just didn't match.
★ [loose cannon, junk, over1234think, pointless content]
i really enjoyed the pacing of this album! it felt like each track was well put, and had their own identity. really enjoying their sound in this album
★ [metro, a clue, feel it inside, effigy, crossroads, jin sabbath]
im living for the slower, more ballad-esque tracks in this album. forget-me-not? chills. borderline tears. it's such a beautiful track dedicated to such a huge part of her identity with such a beautiful display of her lower register with the instrumental complimenting it in the best way possible.
★ [snow white, silver lining, forget-me-not, mr. eclectic]
one huge request to current pop producers? can we please stop with the synths? i know it was groundbreaking in the past year, but that was because we didn’t hear it so often in modern songs. now they’re in every single one, and it’s had its run, it’s lost its charm. the album in itself not only felt rushed, but it also felt like they heard sabrina’s top tracks from short and sweet, paraphrased it enough times to not flag down as a copy and called it a day. ... read more
