Huge respect to Danny for his continued pursuit of exposing upcoming to larger audiences, and his obvious passion and love for his craft.
For me, some of the features on here really just didn’t work so well. However, the direction Danny is going (EDM infused pop rap) does have so much potential and I’m very excited to see where it goes next!
Strong case to be made that Danny is one of the best rappers alive.
I think if you had to pass on any one project from KCs original run, this would be the one.
Red fucking blows this out the water
Wild how a massively influential, complex and highly experimental album can be outshined so much within an artist’s discography. Larks Tongues is really a victim of KCs insane catalogue, as when I listen to it I’m blown away, but in my head i’m going “am I AS blown away as a listen to Red or In The Court of the Crimson King”
That’s a crazy achievement for a band, because Larks Tongues would solidify any band as one of the greats. It truly is ... read more
I could listen to this on repeat for hours. I thought that Meis style was maybe more suited for EP length, however this album surprised me on many levels. It’s engaging, beautifully intricate and clearly filled with care and love.
Listen to it
Really easy to focus on the lovely bilingual vocals here but the production is quite incredible. Varied, complex and perfectly complimentary to the vocals.
Some music just makes the world a bit brighter while it’s on, give it a listen :)
It’s like if the Geometry Dash tracks I listened to as a kid were even more epic
Decent dream pop project, not on the level of Cinema or Submarine by a pretty big margin
Already mentioned this in my RAM review, but the Tron Legacy soundtrack was a significant formative moment of my youth that inspired much of my music taste.
The movie is fine, really. Nothing special. But I left the cinema with my dad and the first thing we did was put this soundtrack on again. Even with all the credit we give Daft Punk, I don’t think enough praise came their way for pulling this unbelievable soundtrack out the bag. It elevates the movie massively, and has inspired so ... read more
Amazing soundtrack unfortunately attached to a pretty terrible movie
The next evolution in post rock
Maruja proves for any doubters that the wait for the debut album was worth it
Whilst the previous EP didn’t blow me away, this certainly did. Dynamic and complex instrumentals brought to further heights with genius lyricism from Harry as usual. This is one of the only albums this year that has had me finishing it and instantly going back to the first track for a second run through
Effortless whilst simultaneously full of passion and intent.
As a particular enjoyer of 2022’s “Everything I Know About Love”, I have been desperately waiting for Laufey to release a project that makes me feel how that did when I first listened to it.
Whilst “Bewitched” was undoubtedly a good album, I found only a couple of tracks to be memorable, and overall as a release it fell a little flat for me. Mostly from the perspective that I knew Laufey was able to ... read more
With myself being a big Quadeca fan, and this being my most anticipated album of the year, I didn’t want to give this a perfect score unless I really really thought it deserved it. Blind praise would have worn off after a day or two, which is why I wanted to wait around a week before posting this review.
Vanisher, Horizon Scraper is the culmination of everything Quadeca has worked for since From Me to You. 4 years may not seem like that long, but when I think about how much my life has ... read more
