Shadow of Intent going wild on modern deathcor- wait...
THIS WAS RELEASED IN 2017????
this feels like something wayy more recent. Even though it focuses wayy more on the melodic aspect of things rather than pure heaviness (it has some filthy ass breakdowns dont get me wrong) its extremely good modern symphonic deathcore
Also featuring Alex Homophobe Terrible didnt age well lmaoo
Favourites: The Prophet's Beckoning, The Heretic Prevails
some cool tracks, but i liked the other albums (that ive listened to) more
---9/10---
this is the first time i listened to metal from my country that i also actually liked
It might be the most accesible blackgaze/ black metal album ive listened to but i guess its for good
Also the track "Mitera" hits so fucking hard
---8.75/10---
Thank you @HomeSession3 for the recc!!!
This album feels like if of mice & men went a completely yet possible direction with their sound
It still has the aggression and energy of the myspace style metalcore but it includes modern elements of metalcore like ambience, djent-style riffing and also calmer clean vocal parts and the best part is that all these blend very nicely.
I do also sense a hint of mathcore in there too
Very good deathcore stuff!
the production, while mushy grew on me after the second listen
Favourites: Easy Awnser, You Won't Be Spared
this is the 3rd time im trying to get into the red chord, while it has some sick parts, it doesnt really do it for me
---9/10---
Bodysnatcher's new album arrives with an overflow of brutality. Hardcore leaning deathcore has recently started to become one of my favourite deathcore styles and bodusnatcher is a good band for that. While theres definitely more brutal stuff outthere *cough cough* Psycho-Frame *cough cough* Hell is Here, Hell is Home still manages to capture the pure violdence and brutality of the modern deathcore sound
Favourite tracks: No Savior, Survive or Die
Distomia
For some reason i wanted for my recent reviews to spell that word, the albums first letter contributes to a letter in distomia
Agape is the A. No other reason to do that other than i thought it would be cool
Agape is pretty cool i guess, id say i like Melting sun more but fire regardless
Rating: 8.25/10
Lets Talk about expectations
What happens to me a lot is already form a general idea about an album's sound before i listen to it, usually based on vibes or genre tags. a lot of the time im dissapointed in an album's sound because its not what I expected.
That being said, i didnt know what to expect from It Comes In Waves, i saw sludge metal and expected a similar sound to Nadir by Black Tongue, although similar in some ways, its quite different. Its not bad, but with the acacia ... read more

Very nice atmospheric metal stuff, the vocals are a tiny bit underwhelming to me but they still fit the whole vibe of the album!
Favourite tracks: Azure Chimes, Jade Fields
Update: 8.75 -> 9.5 : it has really grown on me, love the atmosphere and the vocals a lot more
---9.75/10---
Revisiting this after I initially thought it was underwhelming and daaamn
This shit is sooo good, i knew that it didnt deserve any rating below 9/10 so i didnt rate it at all initially, and holy shit i was right.
Odyssey to the West is a masterpiece, filled with emotion, heaviness and ambition, it sucks it has only 94 ratings, a lot more people deserve to listen to this
Favuorite tracks: Westward Bound (both parts), The Mountains Of Man, The Razor's Edge
---8.25/10---
Such calm vibes! as a person who mainly enjoys brutal and energetic music i found this quite enjoyable! despite using one vocal style it still manages to be not boring. I think ill try to listen to more shoegaze from now on!
Favourites: Say Less, In Blueberry Memories
It has some good tracks, but very few are my taste, others feel like a giant interlude
