I feel like this album is perfect for watching the sunrise…problem is i’m usually asleep during that time. It’s a solid effort but desperately calls for some way to differentiate the tracks from each other.
I think when Chxrry leans into that cloud rap aesthetic the songs come out really interesting. However, she drifts into generic, familiar r&b territory on several moments throughout this record. Can’t help but wonder how things would’ve turned out if she fully jumped in instead of just dipping her toe in the water.
i don’t think glaive and kurtains had a clear idea of what they wanted to do with this project, and it’s unfortunately reflected in the material.
A concise, gorgeously produced, mixed and recorded pop record. underscores keeps listeners entertainer throughout the entire project and leaves for several moments where I physically had to pick my jaw back up.
Wow…the album of the summer has officially identified themselves.
This albums combination of hyperpop and trap productions with 2000s electronic “ke$ha-esque” pop music creates a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh at the same time.
